5 of us hiked up June 8-10. The weather was great going up and the trail was well maintained and dry. The last 4 KM after the split to Lake of the Falls is a bit grueling but worth it. The lake is totally thawed. It was just us on Friday with two more small parties showed up on Saturday for the night. Lots of small campsites and one big one on the North side of the lake with a toilet East of the largest site. There are more camp sites and a bear pole on the South end of the Lake. We ran into a hiker who went to Lake of the Falls and back, He said the trail is washed out in some places so you will get wet if you go that way. We walked around the whole lake on Saturday, but had to take our boots off to get through the creek on the South end of the lake. Sunday morning we woke up to snow covered tents, the snow kept up the whole walk back to the car so we got pretty wet but stayed warm by moving quickly. Took about 8 hours up and 5 hours down with short breaks to eat and adjust equipment. We plan to go back to do more exploring.
