07.21.18 Beautiful morning for a hike, started at around 9:30AM. We found it to be of moderate difficulty for beginners due to mostly uphill with consistent incline. Loved the cool fresh mountain breeze through the forest. Took us about 2 hours from trailhead to peak with quick water, rest, and photo breaks. Past the trees, the grassy areas are full of pretty wild flowers. Highly recommend the last push to the peak as it offers a breathtaking 360 view of neighboring mountains and trail on the ridge. Got really windy and cold at the top, will bring windbreakers next time. Only bummer is the gravel road leading up to the trailhead. It felt like you’d never get there (or maybe miss it). Took about 25min from the Powderface Trail sign. To be fair, it is a scenic drive. Plenty of parking if you get there early.

Perfect day for this trail. We are not the most in shape hikers and we found this trail to be on the easier end of moderate. The incline is even and steady with some switchbacks so we had a lot of short one minute breaks but we made it to the top in about 2 hours. Round trip was just over 4 hours but we spent almost an hour at the top. The views at the top are 360 degrees spectacular and for very little effort. We had our dog with us and it was perfect for him, but as you’d expect there is no water source aside from the creek right at the bottom. The top was quite windy and cool but there are some trees to shelter behind. There are a decent number of bugs at the trailhead but not too bad on the trail. July 21/18

Great hike for a newbie or kids. Steady incline with smooth path. Summit is very rewarding for not too crazy of an incline. Cool paths to explore around too if you wanted to do more, there are about three signs with maps while you’re walking that makes exploring easy. Beautiful wildflowers all over the trail this time of year, July 21, 2018.

30 minute gravel road to trailhead with condition of road being good. Trail is well marked and ample room for parking. Most of the hike is through forested canopy with little to see although very relaxing as the traffic is low. Top of the trail had very nice view of the valley below jumpingpound mountain. At the summit, there’s a nice and open area where you can move around off the path a bit with freedom. Overall the hike is through consistent elevation, decent view at the top, and drive is quite scenic. In total took us about 2.5-3 hours.

The gravel road to get to the trail was a little intimidating because it felt like it would never end, but it was easy enough to traverse. The trail head was nicely marked, with a steady incline the whole way, although I don’t know if that’s enough to call it moderate. Phenomenal views at the top! Great trail for pups!

One of my favs! Great short hike with amazing views. May 15/18 - Trail very muddy as still lots of snow melting off. Sections of waist deep snow all the way up. Dry and clear once you pass the treeline.

We hiked this 3x in a week in June, so beautiful, one of our favourite, the only issue is you have to drive in dirt road 18 kms.

This is an great hike it's similar to tunnel mountain if you have ever hiked that one. The approach/drive is down dirt road a ways a way. Definitely worth the drive!

About 35 min on a dirt road to reach the base. Decent climb, we had snow the night before so quite wet. Poles are a help. Not to steep, just a steady uphill climb. The views at the summit are spectacular! Would definitely recommend this hike. My husband did it with our one year old on his back, and me with a small dog. Fun for the whole family as it took about 3 hours.
