Crystal clear side channels of the Elbow river meander throughout this network of trails. Great place for a relaxing afternoon or evening walk in a little piece of nature within the city. The park was created in 2000 and named after Wilbur Griffith who, with his wife Betty, donated a portion of their estate to The City of Calgary to be set aside as a nature preserve. Griffith Woods is classified as a Special Protection Natural Environment Park because of its overall environmental sensitivity and significance. This is a great trail to see a little nature in the city. It took about an hour, my phone battery died partway through so its hard to say for certain! I’ve done this trail before and it’s a lovely 5km stroll with the dogs

Forest bathing! This trail is flat and surrounded in greenery and flowers with a little babbling brook. It’s a perfect fit for you if you don’t have very much time and need some serenity and a taste of nature close to the city! It’s suitable for pushing a stroller too if you have kids and it’s great for walking dogs. It took me just over an hour walking slow and taking my time and enjoying it.
