Great short loop. Lots of snow and ice cover, so cleats are a good idea. Nice and bright with lots of bird activity.

Is there ice on the trail? I plan to go with two senior citizens who should not be walking on ice. Thanks in advance,

Walked here today from Pearce Estates park, nice chill walk for a rainy day. Stopped and took shelter on the balcony of the old house in the middle of the park, looks like work might be in progress to restore it?...

Walking

A bird-watching treasure in Calgary. Love this place. It's past the prime birdwatching season, but we saw mallards, wood ducks, red-breasted mergansers, Canada geese and a pied-billed grebe. Lots of evidence of woodpeckers. Easy walk in the woods and by the river.

Beautiful trail. Easy walking and wide enough for my double wide Thule stroller. Lots of birds to see and gorgeous views of the bow. Well maintained! I would highly recommend this for someone looking to do an easy walk.

Short, beautiful walk. Of the dozen or so walks we have done, this has been the most beautiful so far. Despite gravel, path is stroller-friendly, and the bike-ban makes the walk toddler-friendly. Many deer and fawn. Bugs not too bad. Regular shade. Much of path is next to Bow River. This is the only walk we have done which my 8-yr-old wanted to repeat the next day. Official 4 pm closure does not appear to be in effect. We left at 5 and people were starting the walk at that time.

Did this hike on a windy and rainy day, so the trail was muddy. Not too many good views, but we did see a deer.
