Went early and had the trail to ourselves. On the way back as soon as you hit Troll falls access, was “crazy” busy. A good hike with consistent up, but not very scenic.... (trail is all on the trees and lookout is unimpressive).

Gradual but steep. Should note that this trail is not intended for hikers after troll falls. Cross country skiing in the winter

My husband and I (33 years old, visiting from Ontario) completed this trail yesterday. We're both in good shape, but very novice hikers so we were looking for a rewarding trail that wasn't too complicated. This trail is nice for a full day hike. The trail is a little boring, but the view at the top is amazing!! The hike starts with a lovely, easy walk around Troll Falls, then there is a steep walk up a service road (with regular views of the ski hill), then you reach the nice proper trail. There’s an amazing view at the top with a sturdy bench and an abandoned hut that many hikers have carved their names in. There’s snow on the ground, some ice. No snowshoes, spikes, or poles needed today (though they could help), but snowshoes would be needed after a snow storm. The trail is very obvious and there is regular, accurate signage along the route. There is good cell reception everywhere along the hike. This hike took us 5.5 hours, including lots of photo stops, a short lunch break, and detours to view the lower and upper Troll Falls. Warning: The path to upper Troll Falls is very sketchy at the moment - icy, slippery, and not obvious when you get high. I recommend against doing it.

Amazing hike with lots of snow. Be sure to walk past the benches to reach the lookout when you reach destination.

First to Review

Really nice, maintained trail for a hike with an amazing view at the end. We chose to skip Troll Falls on the way because it was so heavily trafficked with families and other hikers, but you could easily add it in for an extra 1ish km. The way to the lookout was almost entirely uphill, which meant the way back was all down.
