Horseshoe Lake is a 1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Jasper, Alberta, Canada that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Nice little trail with amazing locations for some cliff jumping on a hot summer day. I would love to give that a try and may make a trip back to do that.
Not very nice.. the path is blocked by fallen trees and it actually smells like stagnant water - With all the other great options around I would avoid this one
The trail as marked by Alltrails was not accurate in some areas. Right at the start there is a marsh where there is supp to be a path and the mid-point of the trail has some part covered by the lake. All in all a short peaceful trail. Hardly anyone on it. Not very well maintained.
Adorable little lake. Gorgeous colours. Didn’t realize where the trail started and went off to the left (instead of right) and followed other people’s self made trails. Found a little spot to go for a chilly swim. Refreshing after a good day of hiking. Would probably go back and try find the real trail.
The trail is scattered and hard to follow. Pretty lake with lots of jumping off places and areas to swim. Wouldn’t call this a “hike” per se, but a pretty way to spend an afternoon. I was unfortunate in that there were two large family groups screaming and playing loud music as they swam which ruined the ambience a bit. Nice views though
Part of the trail is washed out but there is a new really easy trail to follow. Absolutely stunning.
Amazing! Busy. The cliff jumping was surreal, many different levels for all sorts of comfort zones. 2 paths, the first is quick but you are walking through chest-deep water. We put on our bathing suits and carried out bags on our heads. I am about 5'7'' and the water was to my chest. There is a longer route, take a left. 10/10 going here again next summer.
Currently the trail is flooded, but that does not mean any lack of fun. I have a little dog that hates water so I had to pick him up when navigating the flooded parts, which usually he hates but it was so hot and his tail was dangling in the water he loved it. It was pretty busy but it didn’t take away from the awesomeness of this trail and swim area. You can cliff jump and still see the bottom all in the same area because the water is so clear. Definitely a great place to come and cool off after a sweaty hike
