Love this hike. It’s a good mix of difficult steep sections followed by a bit of a break as it flattens out each time you reach a lake. The lakes and waterfalls are beautiful and this hike was not very crowded for us, even on a sunny summers day. Be warned that the drive in is a bit on the wild side- low-riding cars may not make it at all and a 4x4 of some sort is probably best (you probably CAN make it in your average sedan, but you’ll have to take it really slow).

One of my favorites. Good mix of terrain and always love trails with waterfalls. Lots of places to take in the view and do some rock hopping. Never made it to the top of the large fall because I’ve gotten off to a late start (all 3 times)! One of these days!

Awesome trail!
Hike through the woods up to the river fed by the first lake and continue hiking lake side. This part is really beautiful and requires some technical skill to avoid getting wet since the lake was often covering parts of the trail while I was there. Keep going lakeside until you meet the first set of gorgeous waterfalls. They are massive, deafening, and inches from the trail. Worth stopping and just taking in the insane power of this set of falls. Just don't get too close! Next, Boulder hop around to the next lake and towards the next set of falls. This part was soooo fun! Jumping from rock to rock can be challenging and dangerous, but once you get a rythm, it's a blast. Before you reach the second set of falls there is a natural stone diving board available if you need to cool off in the lake. Next, the climb up to the top of the second set of falls is really steep and requires both hands, but the payoff at the top is easily worth it. That's where I stopped for lunch and headed back. Didn't have time to go to the end of the third lake as getting this far took 2.5 hrs and it was late.

After having hiked Patricia Loop, Sulphur Ridge, Valley of the Five Lakes, Old Fort Pointe, and Geraldine Lakes, so far this was by far my favourite hike. It has many challenging sections that require good ankles and balance(1.5km of boulder hopping), plus a wide variety of hiking environments. There were very few hikers on the trail which made it much more fun for me, since my friends enjoy having a trail to just themselves. Also, of the trail wasn't marked and I relied heavily on small rock piles to guide me.

5/5!

Geraldine lake 2 is beautiful. There's a lot of hopping from boulder to boulder is involved, with a good boots on, the trail is fun.
