Trail was in good shape, packed by snowshoes along the ridge. About 18 inches of snow off the trail.

Great day for a snowshoe! New snow meant we tracked out the route up the ridge. Never met a soul until we were on our way down out on the road. We were fogged in so the view wasn't great but it was beautiful in the trees!

Great hike definitely will do again. We were a group of 8 seniors. Found it to be on the easy side of moderate. Beautiful views.

A walk through a deciduous forest/meadow with some views on the way up. The way back is literally touching the highway for a good distance. Nice wildflowers.

Great first family hike, although the ascent and distance was a bit much for my 7 year old, my 9 year old did just fine. Lovely views along the top of the Foran Grade trail and beautiful meadows and wildflowers through the descent along the Windy Point trail. Really didn’t enjoy the trail back to the car alongside busy highway though...

Great hike with amazing views. We went counter-clockwise as suggested by another hiker on here. Did not appreciate hiking on the highway on the way back for approximately 1.7km. Gorgeous wildflowers along the entire way. Fantastic photos along the way.

A nice hike in a beautiful area. The wildflowers were amazing and really added to the experience. Great views.

Great hike with great views and the flowers were spectacular but won’t be in another week. Nice path on the south side of the hi way and just above the river even though you eventually have to make your way to the hi way. Would recommend doing it counter clockwise.

Easy to moderate trail up to and along the ridge. Wonderful views of the Sheep Valley. But mostly enjoyed the wild flowers along the path and in the meadow. Beautiful.

Hiked this trail May 19, 2019. Fresh snow in some parts and muddy conditions for most of it, but it was a great, easy hike. Saw a black bear and what looked like cougar/bobcat prints, so be careful and keep your dog on a leash, just in case.

Decent short little hike with some elevation no serious hiking gear required takes about 2 hrs would recommend if just a weekend warrior type

Have to walk the road but we did from windy point ridge back through Foran grade today. Always did it reverse but really enjoyed it the opposite direction today . Lots of wildlife today. Skunk, sheep and deer. Beautiful views when skies opened. About 10 km total but would be less once gates open May 15. Done May 2/19.

Pretty good shape, lots of hard pack but some people with horses went through and rutted up the trail. I wore snowshoes on the trail, it helped and made the snowdrifts easy. Lots of extra road walking this time of year.

Low stress trail with a gradual elevation gain in the trees to a great viewpoint looking over the Sheep River. The map appears to show the trail following the road however as the earlier post indicates, you must cross the highway at the parking lot for Windy Point and go toward the benches, you will find a trail that follows the Sheep River bank and then you hook back up to the road to pick the car at the Foran Grade parking pull out. Leisurely pace 1.5-2 hours. There are cows and calves on the trail and lots of cow pies.

Definitely go counter clockwise on this one! Climbing up is roots and stones - but gradual ascent with only a couple steep bits. Descending met some cows - have to cross the highway to do the last 1.7k, you'll walk along the ridge overlooking the river. On the way up it flattens out and you think you're at the top? You're not! There are two or three more climbs. Payoff is beautiful. Trail easy to follow and I hoofed it with a 30lb toddler on my back, in 2.5hrs.

A great trail with awesome views that last quite a while. Just when you think your done going up hill it just keeps going! There were beautiful wild flowers while we were descending. The trail is very narrow for the majority of the hike so wear good shoes as you constantly have to watch your step.

I would say this hike is worth the views! Lots of wild flowers, butterflies and birds. We spotted some deer and came across a black bear about 20m off the trail- no problems. It is not an easy hike- definitely a lot of elevation gain- but enjoyable half a day. The loop took my bestie, two dogs and myself 3.5 hours to complete with a stop for lunch. Trail is getting worn in spots and there are lots of exposed roots and rocks- so wear appropriate footwear!

This was a wonderful spring hike with the whole family. 4 Boys age 3-11. There is some nice elevation gain at the beginning for some nice views, but nothing too strenuous. Stopped for lunch half way. No real difficulty and total moving time was about 2 hours.

Beautiful views. Finished this hike with 4 adults, 3 children under the age of 3 years old and 2 dogs. There was a bit of standing water along the path and a bit of snow but all in all, the path was in good condition (nothing unexpected for spring). We did this hike with a stroller but I would recommend a carrier for small children. The path is rocky in some areas and there are areas with tree roots, but otherwise it is pretty tame. A great day hiking trail for the family.

Nice moderate fall or spring hike. Some limited views west of the mountains. May be cattle in the area. Very similar in distance, elevation and views as Fullerton Loop.

Really enjoyable hike with some beautiful views. The trail has some marked signs, but no sign on the road so it is difficult to find at first. Go west 1.6 km from the Sandy McNabb recreation area and you'll see a pull out area on the right for you to park. The trial starts off from there.
