The trail is partly muddy. Family friendly, lots of shade and few spot to stop and rest. The path is narrow in most area.

Nice evening stroll around the lake - we left at 7pm and back at 830pm. Trails were a bit muddy in certain spots, and lots of tree roots. Nice enough walk, not strenuous

I took my 2 dogs July 31, 2020. it was a nice easier walk. There were several muddy spots, didn't effect me too much as I had my hiking boots on. never being on this trail I did get a little confused, but found our way. It would be helpful if it was marked a little clearer. I would recommend this hike, and I'd do it again.

Tried biking this trail b/c my 10yr old daughter had an ankle injury and biking felt better than walking. Ended up pushing the bikes for about a quarter of the trail (northwest side of the lake) because of the tree roots and muskeg. Otherwise was a ton of fun to bike it but would have been nearly as fast to walk. My 5 yr old daughter walked it and had no issues. Very wet in some spots but can get around the puddles if you’re creative.

Nice and easy trail. very muddy in some spots, but as long as you bring an extra pair of shoes and socks you should be ok!

A really nice & easy hike/nature walk around Fish Lake. Really muddy in some spots. Links up to Black Creek Canyon Trail. Busier on campground side. Lots of Loons & you can watch raptors diving for fish from the air.

It was busier than I expected for an overcast day, with lots of folks fishing on the campground side. As others have said, lots of exposed roots. Lots of muddy portions as well- you’ll likely get your feet wet. Great little loop around the lake though, lots of beautiful wildflowers along the way.

Muddy

went yesterday (June 13) and was muddy on the first bit, (from day area heading to the right starting the loop) but was dry the rest of the way. the other comments are correct its very rooty so good shoes reccomend. we took our 3 yo and she loved the challenge of the roots (jumping off) but took a while longer. plan for 2 hours with kids. We were done in 1.5 h but put our daughter in the backpack carrier and picked up the pace. Definitely longer than 5 kms though. Closer to 7-8kms I would say? Forgot to record it...beautiful scenery and the lake is so clear. Can watch fish jumping out of the water. Very beautiful!

Nice little hike. Part of the trail has a lot of roots but the rest is easy to walk on. The lake is clean and clear and can be seen for most of the walk.

Great little trail run for Early season. There’s deep snow right next to the parking lot but that’s about the only snow on the trail. Some patches in the shade still but dry. Fairly flat so accessible to new hikers. Had the whole place to myself on a beautiful sunny spring day.

I did this trail yesterday with my 14month old and my husband. It took 2 hours total time to do the whole loop. Lots of roots and some muddy spots. It was a lovely walk along the lake. Easy hike and great views. Benches to sit on along the way. Lots of spots to jump in and cool off
