A bit of an incline but this short beautiful hike has the most gorgeous view of the Chateau Lake Louise that you’ll see. Was snowy today so we were glad we had spikes.

A relatively easy and short hike through a wooded area on the left side of Lake Louise. It will take you up to a viewpoint where you can see the Fairmont Lake Louise and the lake from up high. You will only see the lake once you reach the top. It does have steeper sections and was a bit slippery on a snowy day in early October.

Steep, snowy slushy trail late Sept 2018. The lookout at top was heavily fogged in at time. We decided to ignore the signs that warned of hiking not recommended and continued on after seeing it was at one time a loop trail. We had waterproof good tread boots and poles and were able to navigate it carefully down the steep slope to the shoreline of Lake Louise. So happy we risked it as we were the only ones on the trail. However, we took our time, remained diligent, aware and used hiking poles. By time we got back to the shoreline the fog had started to lift!

Very nice but steep hike up to a fantastic view. Much less crowded than the shore of Lake Louise.

If you continue 20 meters after the end of the trail the views are very beautiful (you will see a advertising saying that is dangerous but is not) the trail "Fairview lookout" is pretty normal.

Long steep uphill, but well worth it for the view and-perhaps better-only ran in to a couple other people during the hike. It is a loop, however there is a sign that says it is not recommended to do the loop. We did-it was worth it. More views and a little adventure!

Our group of 10 was limited on time so we did this trail and it was perfect. Steep but quick/short. Down and back in 45min which includes time for lots of pictures

Super straightforward. Very steep for about 20-30min and then flattens out to the lookout. Nice and shaded from the hot sun during the summertime. Lookout viewpoint is breathtaking.

Nice & short trail if you haven’t so much time. The Lake and Chateau are amazing.

This was a great little hike during the winter. Solid view of Lake Louise. I would recommend this as a short winter hike.

Great hike to a beautiful overlook. Yes, a little buggy. If adventurous, continue past the overlook on the old “not maintained” trail. It will follow switchbacks down the lake level, then back to the start. It is beautiful and very few folks with do it. We hiked next to the incredible Lake Louise with no others!

Great hike up to the lookout with a good incline.

Moderate incline but a considerably short hike. The end gives you great, aerial views of Lake Louise. Not too many people on the trail. This trail was about 30-45 minutes.

Very nice hike. The entrance is a little bit difficult to find, but with AllTrails app shouldn’t be a problem. We went around 6:30 pm, which turned out to be a good timing. The trail wasn’t crowded, and no one else was at the outlook. Lake Louise in afternoon sunlight was gorgeous. The only thing is mosquitoes. Million of them up at the outlook. Be prepared.

Nice short hike. The path is still snow-covered.

A nice short hike. Less than an hour round trip. The trail was still snow covered on 5/12/18 and the lake completely frozen. Hiking boots needed and cleats would have been helpful but not necessary.

Hiked it 5/2/18. Still plenty of snow on the ground but it’s very hard packed due to all the traffic. Some people might appreciate extra traction from micro spikes, but most folks will be fine going all the way up in just boots.
All in all the hike up wasn’t that strenuous and took 35 minutes at most, The view is all right but unfortunately the left side of the vista is obscured by trees so you end up seeing mostly the front of the lake and the hotel, which, who cares about the hotel? I was hoping for a full view of the entire leg and was a little disappointed about that

Good hike to do with the family. Simply fantastic views for such a short hike.

Nice and easy, nice view of the lake, but there is much nicer around.

The views from the top were worth the hike, but be warned that the trail is SLICK. The snow was completely packed down, making it a fairly dangerous hike. Make sure you wear shoes with good traction. The trail itself wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was an easy enough hike without too much elevation gain for a good view.

Great short hike. Nice view of lake and hotel.

Fairly easy 30min hike. Thought there was a bit of scrambling from what I've read from other reviews, but there were none. Anyway it was absolutely gorgeous with the blue water!!

Did it on June 3, the lake almost clear. I saw amazing blue color.

A steady climb as you work your way around the mountain towards the backside. It levels out to a beautiful meadow which is a great place to prep before taking in the steep ascent to the peak. A bit of scrambling towards the top but once that peak is reached prepare for breathtaking views all around
