Nature tripsGreat!Off trail

Beautiful hike and easy ! First 10-15 minutes lots of medium size rocks but the view is breathtaking then an hour maybe hour 1/2 walk Deep in the woods and at the end the spectacular glaciers and mountains around consolation Lake ! It’s a 3 hours hike total both ways. It’s totally worth it I would recommend !!

Did the trail back on Oct. 10th, 2020. Except for a few rocky sections at the beginning, the trail was well defined, and was a very pleasant walk. Had a bit of fun walking/climbing/skipping around rocks at the lakes.

Great hike met a grizzly at the end of the trail near the small lake.. If you face the lake to your right on top of the mountain there is a cave.. Inside the cave there is a bear.. His name is Jeff and he likes beef jerky

Walking

The forested section of the trail has a slight incline (going in) making it a rather easy trail. However, once you reach the rock field it can get a bit tricky. As the rocks/boulders can be loose, smooth, and very large. Also, there are many gaps between the rocks making it very easy to slip and get your foot wedged in. I would not recommend taking small children through the rock field. My sister and I had such a blast climbing on the large boulders and one of our group members jumped into consolation lake. Would not recommend it as it was absolutely freezing (glacier fed water). The views are beautiful, you can actually see the glaciers from the rock shore, the hike in general is just beautiful. Before you start the hike I would definitely recommend doing the rock pile, you get a beautiful view of Moraine lake.

August 16, 2020 - Easy and well defined trail that follows water stream till the first lake (We did the first lake only). Last portion is done by walking on the boulders and we found the boulders steady and once you get hang of walking on them - easy. Be careful on the step placement. There are many big rocks that you can sit on and relax while gazing at the lake and the area. We bundled this hike with watching the sunrise at Lake Moraine. Recommended.

HikingGreat!

Dry, clearly marked trail. Magnificent lake and view at end. Easy until shore of lake (large boulders surround the beach to lake... wear good footwear if you plan to get through to lake. Lots of like side path on trail worth checking out.
