Cascade Ponds is a 1.5 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Banff, Alberta, Canada that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching and is best used from June until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Please see the park page here for information about current COVID-19 and road closures: https://www.pc.gc.ca/en/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/covid-19-info This is a lovely short and sweet trail with some nice views of the water and mountain peaks, good for families.
Wasn’t able to follow this map as it wanted you to go across the stream to follow it properly. However nice easy trail with some decent views
Trail Completed: August 21, 2020 We stopped here for a picnic lunch before moving on to Sundance Canyon. Afterwards, we completed the loop. The trail itself isn't long, should just take 10-15 minutes. Took us about 45 minutes with stopping for pictures and going in the creek. The ponds were a beautiful shade of blue. Fun trail, would definitely come back to do more here.
extra busy in the shoreline closest to parking but once you are on the other side of the bridge it is pretty clear.
Beautiful scenery for picnic after the short hike. I personally think that this place is meant for families that would like to spend time together with lots of available activities to do. The hike is short and pretty easy for everyone. If you want or looking for something challenging trail then you might want to skip this trail.
Great little walk, beautiful turquoise water. Take the road on top of the ponds and the climb down for a better experience
This is a lovely short walk to do with family. Lots of prairie dogs whistling their warnings. But part of the trail is closed which made this map confusing. The signs say it will reopen in November 2019.
