This was Day one of a backpacking trip to Burstall Campground (US18)

The trail starts at mount shark day use area. to ultimately finish at the Burstall Parking area while staying one night at Burstall Campground (US18).

We made the connection between the two parking lots with a mountain bike. It is a ten km ride doable in less than an hour (took me 45 mins with the drive).

THe hike towards Burstall pass is a very serene one. We did not encounter a single person/group on the trail. For the biggest part of the trail you will be in a dense forest of hight trees and will get to look at a creek for a decent part of it. As you get into the valley things open and could possibly be very wet in early season. For us in late august, it was bone dry.

Overall a great hike if you're looking for a campground that is not too busy. Might be great on a mountain bike!
