The trail still has some ice and mud in sections. Definitely worth packing crampons. I didn’t have mine, so I did the return trip along the paths nearer to the river-much less ice and mud. Beautiful day!

Super impressed with this trail! A nice easy trail surrounded by mountains almost the whole walk. We walked along the frozen river once the trail ended to a beautiful view of the 3 sisters.

Perfect easy hike that includes some beautiful views of the Bow River, and Three Sisters Mountains. Good chance you will see some Elk in the area, I encountered a herd of about 50 last week. It is icy in many locations, as well as localized flooded areas. Bring waterproof hiking shoes/boots and you'll be fine.

Lovely river, forest and open views. VERY icy in many areas, crampons needed. Beautiful sunny skies, easy walk other than the ice. Some wildlife including elk! Parking lot only has about 10 spots just FYI

WalkingGreat!

Took the pups on a nice walk, trail wasn’t busy and it was very tracked and firmly packed down. You can easily do this trail in normal winter boots or hiking shoes. Pretty views of three sisters and nice how it weaves in and out of the trees alongside the bow.

Very simple walk. Packed snow and no cleats needed. Lots of people out walking, cross country skiing and running. Walk through Larch Island is really nice.

Easy family winter hike. Flat packed down trail. First half is open walking along the river in the heart of Canmore and second half is more treed with amazing views of the "Three Sisters" at the end of the trail. There is a creek you would have near the end but was frozen over and we were able to cross.
