Pretty hike, nice and unpopulated compared to other trails in the park. Beautiful view of the lake and the Rockies at the top

Walking up to the lake was spectacular. The top is serene. Beautiful coloured water with an unreal backdrop. The hike is a steady climb up, took us about 2.5 hours up and 1 down. Could probably be done at a quicker pace though!

It was a good hike, took us a little longer then anticipated. It took us 2 hours to the top and about 1h 45 min down. I am a slower walker though. Nice and shady, bugs weren't too bad.

This is a lovely moderate hike with some occasional muddy patches. The trail is wide and well maintained. There are many pretty little spots with waterfalls and springs along the way. Shaded most of the way with the biggest elevation gain right at the beginning. Boom lake is gorgeous - take a picnic and enjoy the view.

Great walk in the woods with a beautiful view at the end. Took us a little over an hour each way. We took our dog. He loved it. A little muddy. Nice shaded walk

Solid trail walking through the woods. Most of the elevation gain is at the beginning. A bit muddy today (after a few days of sunshine) but not too hard to get around those spots. The lake is lovely. No significant vistas before then. It’s a nice hike. If you’re looking to go to O’Brien Lake, go from the other side. The cutoff that leaves from this trail looks quite overgrown and unmaintained.

I had read that the trail can get crowded, so we went in the morning, but were the first ones there (arriving at 8 am). The usual bear warning signs were posted, so we were cautious on the way up. My parents are about 60 and this was a good hike for them with moderate inclines instead of anything drastic. We took our time and it took about 90 mins up and 75 down. The trail is easy to follow, wasn’t too muddy, but a bit buggy. No incredible sights along the way in my opinion, but once you arrive at the lake it’s stunning. We stayed there for about an hour and a half. Lots of fish in the lake if you have a license! Caught some lake trout (we think). On the way down, it didn’t feel crowded with hikers coming up, and the parking lot was about half full at 1 pm. Would definitely recommend!

Started just after 1 pm on Sunday July 28, and even though the parking lot was full the trail was not overwhelmed with people at all. Lovely easy hike, would recommend hiking boots over runners due to the muddy sections. The lake at the end is equal to other alpine lakes that require much higher elevation gain.

nice walk in the trees on wide path to the gorgeous view - still muddy in some sections but easy to navigate. good one to solo with the dog as lots of people around but not crazy busy (passed someone every 5 to 10mins). easy 10km.

I used a Garmin etrex 30x GPS and measured the accumulated elevation at 253 meters. the trail length in and out was 11.2 Km. Nice walk through a mature forest ending at a very pretty lake surrounded by mountains. Not a hard hike. Most of the hike today was in the rain.

Hiked today, gentle incline or flat all the way to the lake through the trees. Very easy to follow. Muddy in some sections from the recent rain but was easy to navigate around if not in hiking boots. Lots of space to sit around once you reach the lake. Was a fairly popular trail. Was expecting lots of mosquitos but came away unscathed! We recorded total elevation gain of 236m so a lot less than AllTrails has listed. 10.65km 2h 10mins, we hike at a fairly good pace. #HikingWithHarri

I did this snowshoeing in November. the trail is too steep in sections and difficult to navigate when there's a lot of snow on the ground. the lake at the end is beautiful but the trail is mostly in the woods.

This was an easier hike that we added to the end of our day b/c we had extra time. No issues parking, hike to the lake was nothing too special, but the lake is beautiful. Wish we had the foresight to pack a lunch, but trail mix on a rock was sufficient. Most people seem to hike out and then hang out for the day. Saw a very large marmot, but not a lot of wildlife in the afternoon. Locals said it's great for snowshoeing.

Hiked to Boom Lake from Taylor Lake on July 7. It's 10km from lake to lake, but the trail covers most of the Boom Lake trail as well. Beautiful lake but very very busy.

One of my favourite hikes in terms of work for reward around! This one should be rated as easy in my opinion, there’s a small elevation gain at the beginning but the rest is pretty much flat and very clear trail through the forest. Came back and did this hike a week later when it was snowing and it was absolutely stunning again in a totally new way! Both hikes were done is September 2018. The view is absolutely sensational and total work the one hour hike in! Great place for a picnic lunch if you’re looking for something easy to do, especially with kids!

Good hike! Expect mud throughout the trail but relatively flat walk! Warning the lake is very heavily populated with mosquitos so shorts not advised!
