HikingGreat!

Nice and easy hike. It was VERY cold when we went so be sure to pack enough layers. We snowshoed the trail but ice spikes are really all you need if no recent snowfalls have occurred since it's well packed. A mix of hikers, snowshoers, and skiiers are on the trail. The grade of the hike is really gradual to the point that you really don't realize you're climbing at all. We loved how dramatic the view was as you're in the trees the whole time and then suddenly it opens up to the lake with the stunning mountain views!

We hiked to Boom Lake on Oct 25 and it was COLD -24 but clear and very pretty. Quite a lot of snow but the trail was in great condition - well packed out for hikers, no need for snowshoes, though cleats were helpful. It is a winter wonderland here. I would rate this as an easier hike as it was not technically challenging and the elevation gain was gentle. Gorgeous view of the lake. Would be great for kids. There were lots of dogs out and a few skiers. Very safe and trail is obvious, you may get into avi risk if you continue along the lake, but there isn’t too much snow yet and just getting to the lake keeps you out of the chutes. Easy hike, you don't even feel the elevation most of the time. The trail is super packed down right now so you can leave the snowshoes behind (until it snows again). The lake is beautiful and still unfrozen (for now) so you get great reflections!

October 25 the trail was packed - no need for snow shoes. There is limited seating at the lake, so if there are other groups there, it quickly becomes crowded. The lake is particularly scenic with all the snow.

Really nice gently uphill trail in the trees with mountain views. The lake is very pretty. It took us about 4 hours round trip at a slower speed and it was comfortable for me even at 4 months preggo. Good for dogs.

Nice easy trail for families. Gradual ascent. A bit muddy in spots. The lake is beautiful. The peaks had a coating of snow.

Great trail. The elevation gain occurs gradually making it easy on the lungs. Double track trail until the last couple of meters making it easy to keep spread out and chatting with your friends. The trail is quite muddy in sections and will take a while to dry out (if it does this season). Not a lot of scenery along the trail but the lake is very pretty. Glad we went!

Nice little hike. It can fill up fast so earlier is better. The view coming up on the lake is pretty amazing. I don't know if this warrants a moderate rating other than having to scramble over rocks to reach the designated end of the trail(which you can totally skip if your goal is just to get to the lake.) Other than that, this is a fairly easy hike for anyone who would be able to climb a few flights of stairs without passing out. I recommend hiking boots or shoes for the mud and big rocks at the end.

This is a perfect family hike. We arrived around 10 on Saturday and the trail was quite busy. The views at the end were stunning. The trail was quite muddy at times, so trail shoes are recommended.

Easy hike for family with kids and dogs. Started the hike at sunrise, no one else at the lake which was great, so come early. Took us about 3.5 hours to complete with 30mins lunch break by the lake.

10.64km and 246m elevation. The beginning is the steepest and then levels out. A walk through the forest all the way to the lake but the forest changes along the route. Beautiful lake.

Good easy out and back trail. Agree that it is more like 200m of gain not 800m. Trail in good shape and fairly well travelled (we went on Monday afternoon). Lake is gorgeous.
