5/26/19 did whiskey lake to bluerock creek trail. The trail itself was in good shape. There was what I’m going to call a “kill zone” in the middle of bluerock creek trail which caused us to turn back (my kiddo was freaked out) but the entire width of the trail was covered in fur and there were at least 4 what looked like coyote skeletons. Given the paws were left on and cleanly cut, the fur was piled and there was no scavenging of the bones; I’m going to say it was done by a human. Then on the way back there was the couple on the hill, overlooking (what’s left of) whiskey lake doing “The deed” out in broad daylight (yeah dude in green jacket we all saw you...and your partner trying to get her pants on). It was a decent hike but apparently you need to be prepared for anything. :/

Very nice trail. Not at all difficult and should be accessible for most people. This was our third trip around during an outing to view Big horn Sheep when the rams are down from the mountains. (We saw lots of sheep in the meadows). It's worth taking a little longer route from the old sawmill site upriver along side Blue Rock Creek. Nice spruce forest and views of the canyon. No snow except for some small parches and this was on Nov 22!.

Beautiful wildflowers and Vistas! Lovely little trail for all age and skill levels. Save time to play at the canyon/creek at the bottom.

I'm a moderate hiker so this was challenging. 3 k's 330 meter elevation uphill. but well worth the views when you get to the top.

Was there July 14th, 2013 to "work off" the week long Calgary Stampede. The trail has suffered the same damage from the flooding that many other areas in Southern Alberta has encountered. We spoke to 4 people on horseback who turned around at the top area rest spot because of the risk from the sinkholes, however we continued on and once reaching the meadows the trail disappeared, washed away with so much silt covering any sign of the connecting trail. Reluctantly we crossed the marsh and hiked through a field before backtracking onto the same trail and returning the same route, 18KM round trip. The Sheep River Falls are beautiful, the area along both sides of the river have some water damage but its still easily accessible.
