This trail is the start of a multi day backpacking trip. It's great once you find your way onto it! The signage from the Little Elbow parking lot is dismal. Without GPS it's next to impossible to know if you are on the right trail as there are several trails branching off from that area. You need to cross the suspension bridge and then go to the left. You will find it from there.

Good beginner hike, but large parts of it are not shaded. Wide trail, clear trail. Not a lot of great views.

Took a friend for a hike and though this would be a good start. Amazing views, you are walking along the fire road the entire way pretty much so it is not a hard trail. We stopped just short of the end and came back just because it was a straight line to where we were going.

We did the first part of the hike (little Elbow campsite to big elbow backcountry campsite). The trail is super flat with beautiful views. It’s only 8.7 k to the campsite which is right on the river and really beautiful. I would totally recommend!
