Hike from Karintak's lush river valley, past a surreal waterfall and stunning canyon to the fortified city of Shushi. This is Day 6 along the Janapar Trail. This section takes you from the historic and aptly named village of Karintak ("under the rock"), down the Karkar River. You'll see the stunning Zontik ("umbrella") waterfall, the ruins of Hunot Village, an old stone bridge, a cave, and stunning views of the Karkar Canyon from above. You'll end up in the historic fortified city of Shushi. The city is still half in ruins from the Karabakh war. The beautiful cathedral, churches, mosques, museum and city walls are all worth exploring.
