Nice trail which is not that hard. It's a consistant climb until you get 2/3 of the hike. Then you reach a beautiful open area with cows and nice views. The rest of the trail is a bit steeper but functional with trails and some stone stairs. The summit is awesome!

My first hike in the Salzkammergut and what a great way to start in this region. This trail is exhausting: it's both long and steep. Especially the last hour almost killed me, but at some point we finally arrived at the summit. So it is a challenge and the reward is huge with amazing views into all directions (how many lakes are in this area?).

Hiked it in mid-May and it took 7 hours in total from base to summit and back down. We ran into heavy snow about 2/3 of the way up but it remained hikeable by following the rail tracks. The entire hike is very picturesque and the view at the top is gorgeous, so I would highly recommend this as a great way to see the Salzkammergut if you're up for a fairly strenuous hike!
