Großerbankerl, Hirschaualm, and Kessel is a 4.7 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Hallstatt, Upper Austria, Austria that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching.
Selbst an heißen Tagen eine angenehme Wanderung, da man zumeist im Schattend er Bäume unterwegs ist. Außerdem kann man unterwegs sein Wasser wieder auffüllen. Wenn man mag, kann man aus dieser Wanderung auch einen Rundweg machen.
June 27, 2019We hiked on a very hot day (96 F when we started). Much of trail is covered so it is quite nice. There is a fountain approx 30-40 min into the hike where we refilled water bottles. Almost immediately after the fountain there is a sharp turn up to the right. It’s easy to miss because the trail going straight is quite well used.

First to ReviewThe hike is well marked by Austrian Flag blazes. A few areas for viewing, but mostly a forested walk. Is a decent hike in a pinch for time. Option to turn into a loop along the road is available.
