Gaisberg features many steep switchbacks snaking their way up the mountain. There is plenty of shade, and even some benches on the way up. From the bottom of the trailhead, expect about 2 hours to the peak. On a clear day, the views are gorgeous! There are several restaurants at the top and the 151 bus stops quite often at the top. Tickets are roughly 3.50 for the ride back down.

Short but challenging, rewarding and well maintained. Hike directly up the mountain. What a view!

We walked more than this trail- and it was so rewarding!

From Mirabellplatz bus stop we took Bus 150 to he Volksschule Gnigl stop. From there we walked through the park, took a left on the street Eichstrabe, and continued up the steps about 100 meters down the street on the right. What followed was a steep, incredibly rewarding hike through the forest (follow the signs for Gaisburg). Bring lots of water! You can also take the bus back down from the top. Check the poster at the bus stop at the summit to check the bus times (they're usually about an hour apart). Enjoy the wildflowers, a beautiful view, and a good workout!

7 of us walked from Salzburg to the trail head and made the journey up the mountain! Cloud cover made the views a little underwhelming, but the hike itself was extremely enjoyable. There was a long section through a riverbed with small wooden stairs and river crossings that were a lot of fun. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful forest!
