This route can get quite steep and rocky, so consider going elsewhere if it's wet. Trekking boots are recommended. This signage isn't great, so make sure to download a map ahead of time. Although a forested area, there are long sunny stretches, so bring sunscreen.

Awesome hike but we took a wrong turn about three quarters of the way around and had to go through thick bush to get back in track. Wouldn’t recommend that. Loved the hike though

Great trail with varying terrain and scenery and beautiful views. Better starting point is about 350m further down South Western Hyw where official entry to Wugong Regional Park is as they are putting up fences all around the private property cutting off access to the trail from current starting point. Definitely recommend to download the app - we would have been lost without... also there are new fences along the trail making it longer to retrace if you missed turns. Lots of shortcuts or add ons possible.

Lovely walk. Definitely a bit tough. Only issue was much of it was on 4x4 tracks. But good nevertheless and dog friendly.

Can be very slippery in sections if raining. Also rocky in sections. Beautiful views. Poor/no reception at times. Ensure you have good battery in your phone as you will need to check the map on the app to know where to go, if this is your first time. App can be a little hard to read at times as a lot of the trails and paths are not showing on the map. Very easy to get lost in the myriads of trails zigzagging in the area otherwise. Consider a portable battery back especially if you like to take lots of photos and video too. Our first time my phone went flat only half way through. We were better prepared this time. Some long steep ascends and descends especially if you wander of the main trail at all. We went clockwise and loved it, be sure to look around and take in the views. Medium fitness level/hiking experience recommended.

Great trail with nice views. I have done it twice, first time we got completely lost due flat battery on the phone (make sure your phone is fully charged if you are there first time and dont know your way around), but just with All trails app it's easy to stay on the right track ,if you keep an eye on it. We have done it clockwise both times, probably bit harder that way, but not bad. It has also rained both times we were there and it gets bit slippery and sloppy on hills, but it's doable with trainers on, no trekking boots needed unless you prefer them. It took us 2h45mins today complete this track on wet weather and we stopped many times to take pictures. Seems to be very popular trail running place.

Great trail, I recommend going anticlockwise to get the big hill over and done with first, great trail for the dogs.

Walked this anticlockwise though I reckon the other way might be better, avoiding the long march back at the end. It was varied and good fun, some steep bits so poles and boots recommended. Mostly on road type tracks but good views. Other side routes could be explored.

Really nice, I'm surprised it's not more well-known. Stunning views and varying terrain to keep it interesting. Definitely bring boots, and as others have said it's possible to get lost, but if you keep an eye on the map (I even just had a printed map) you'll be fine. I had 3G coverage throughout most of the hike, too. The north side has an abandoned quarry and a really good rock-climbing cliff face, worth checking out. Would recommend a whole day set aside if you plan on doing the whole trail, there's plenty of places along the way to explore or just sit down and enjoy the view.

A great hike. Definitely go anti-clockwise because you will do the very tough inclines and declines first. Remember to look beside and behind you for some interesting sights. Love the varied terrain. Definitely need to keep a close eye on the map. One small part we could not find and had to cut the corner. My dog loved this hike also.

Awesome trail with a few different types of terrain. The dog and I left early in the morning and did this trail anticlockwise which I would recommend. Didn't see anyone else until about 2/3 of the way in. A few MTB riders about. Definitely need to watch the map if you intend to follow the trail however there are plenty of side tracks and different options to explore.

Recommend doing to loop anti-clockwise. South side is definitely more challenging. Also managed to get lost amongst the myriad of trails. As everyone says, keep a sharp eye on the map. Some lovely views across the gorge.
