On the fire roads it was great but where it was steep it was hike-a-bike. For mountain bikers I would recommend making your own way around the gorge along the exisiting fire roads and not strictly following the trail on All Trails. It is a very scenic gorge that gives you many majestic views and allows you to fill your lungs with fresh air.

We went mid June just after rain. Steep hills and loose rocks in places but we came across a section which was too slippery to go down so we deviated through the bush a bit. Beautiful views of gorge and city. Use phone map as easy to go up the wrong path. Trekking boots recommended.

great hiking trail, lovely views, lots of steep inclines and declines. Bring hiking poles and good grip shoes. There are no signs so use the maps on here. Avoid where i got lost, you'll see where I doubled back. Very challenging but enjoyable

If you decide to hiking this trail, it isn’t a easy one. Always pay attention uphill and downhill otherwise very easy to fall down. Bring enough water and hiking shoes, enjoy gorge view

good walk lovely views but very steep at times

Someone wrote this trail has some killing hills - and that's certainly not exaggerated... wouldn't call it "hard" though. It's a tough hike but mostly on a wide 4wd track. Ran into my very first snake during a hike....probably a python but being a foreigner, my attitude is that EVERYTHING in Australia can kill you... did a biiiig loop around it. You depend on the app/map as there are no signs but you have A lot of options to add additional km. Can't wait to go back when there's some water flowing. Will also go back for some 4wding in winter.

A good trail but the trail on here leads you through the bush when there's a perfectly good path

Easy to follow thanks to the offline location. Bring your suncream and a hat if the weather is hot. Watch your step in case there is a snake ( I didn’t see any snake). I was lucky I saw 2 kangaroos !

some of the best killer hills coming in at 747mtrs I have hiked in the perth region area plenty of snakes out here to I come across a huge king brown only a few mtrs away from me certainly stopped me real quick some trail markers for a loop hike would be an advantage for people shire of armadale

Good hike however no road markings, can get lost pretty easy. This app helps with tracking but

great trail, very versatile, lots of flowers in spring. There's a few steep hills involved and there are no trail makers at all. The AllTrails app has proven a bit of a lifesaver in that one.

Great views of the gorge, but get prepared for some serious hills to climb.
