A pleasant walk through the Kalamunda valleys. Some steep sections will test your balance skills but the beautiful rocky pools and turquoise clay pit lake make it all worthwhile.

Gorgeous waterfall but the trail can be very difficult to follow. It branches off a lot, luckily its pretty popular so people can tell you where to go. That might be due to the rainy days weve had recently though.

Made the mistake of going anti-clockwise. For a brief moment in time I knew what it was like having calves. Some steep inclines provided for scenic views.

Starting the trail at the end of Spring Road, I walked in a clockwise direction which meant starting the walk with a climb up quite a steep hill. Care should be taken as there are lots of loose stones / gravel. There are also some steep downhill stretches which can be quite tricky as well. This walk is a great workout and worth the walk to get to Rocky Pool which is stunning after some rain.

A great hike. Though make sure you have good grip shoes as it’s easy to slip on all the small stones in parts. It’s a much easier walk if you head in a clockwise direction - the hill going in an anti-clockwise direction is killer! At sunset we saw a lovely little family of kangaroos along the trail too.

I took the trail to the right. Was a short rocky decline to start then the trail opens up like a graded road. Was busy on Sunday with other hikers, trail runners & Mountain bikers so I took some of the ‘smaller’ trails that show up on this app. These turned into fun scrambles with steep inclines until the trails met back up with the main one. It turned into one of the most fun and physically challenging trails I’ve hiked training with a 7kg pack.

Not much to see when it's dried up. Very steep downhill if you head up to the left first.

Half of it is up hill. You have to pay attention to signage, from the rock pool you need to then back track to find the path on the right to get back. it's dried up in early autumn if there hasn't been rain.

All dried up in summer

Would do again in winter or spring (did at the start of March and was quite humid) but the trail is still really beautiful even without the streams. It’s pretty steep in parts but not too bad.

Took a wrong turn so this ended up being a 9.5km walk. Thank goodness for the app which got us back on track. The walk is pretty tricky in places with rocky hill climbs. Make sure you have proper footwear and plenty of water. Some beautiful views....will definitely do this walk again.

Greats scenery and water pools. Quite a tough walk in places. Saw a tiger snake, so watch out now the weather is warming up! Signage is poor and we walked off the track for about 1.5km, so use the map.

Beautiful bush walk! WA does not disappoint. Didnt do the entire loop, cut through one of the bike paths called Jesus Loves You on the map here. It had the most gorgeous display of wildflowers. That was a highlight for me besides the pools ofcourse.

Lovely location, in a few parts there’s water to cross, so bring the correct footwear. Not hard but a few hills I had to carry my 2 year old up. Worth the trip.

Great hike, loved the surroundings especially the Rocky Pools. The trail does have a steep, rocky climb but it is well worth it. Signs weren't very good so you do have to watch out to stay on the trail.
