A pleasant walk through the Kalamunda valleys. Some steep sections will test your balance skills but the beautiful rocky pools and turquoise clay pit lake make it all worthwhile.

Great Trail to take children and with beautiful landscape. It is rocky and muddy (so wear old shoes!). We went anti clockwise on another reviewers advice and it was a great idea. It was a lot of steep inclines but I’d prefer that over going down due to the rocky and muddy track...

First 1/3 more a down hill buck trail narrow, overhang and creek but once you get past that it’s a rocky track for a bit until the main track is meet. Very steep at points no signs so save map prior or pro version. Last 1/3 down hill good surface to finish on. Would do again

The are sections of the track that are steep and dangerous. Be careful! Adding on the Helena River Trail made it a good length but the track is exposed so not great in Summer heat. Most of this combined trail is on vehicle tracks.

Enjoyable little trail. Next time I will do it anti clockwise as my knees tell me they would prefer ascending rather than descending!. Trail has suffered a fair degree of wash out from winter rain. Currently no water at Rocky Pools.

We came up from a different carpark and missed the turn to go clockwise. pay attention and go clockwise or be prepared for the steep climb. recommend long pants as there's a few bull ant colonies establishing themselves along the route.

Good trail. Not too challenging for hikers. Some steep descents. Nice views and a good spot for a swim.

This was out first hiking experience in WA and we loved the trail! Some bits were fairly steep and rocky, a little challenging when going down hill, tracking poles would have been handy. When you get to the river crossing, if the water is too deep there is actually a short (about 100 m.) detour with a bridge over the river - just turn left near the water, you will find it easily. The whole area around the Rocky pool is gorgeous!

Make sure you don't miss the right-hand turn about 400m after Rocky Pools or you'll walk in the wrong direction. Vertical pillar on left side of track has blue directional arrow pointing the way. Also strongly recommend going clockwise from Spring Rd.
