Distance: 13.7 miles Elevation Gain: 1,384 feet Route Type: Out & Back

The Meelup Reserve Trail weaves along the tranquil waters of Geographe Bay from Dunsborough to Meelup, south west of Perth, Western Australia. Highlights include some of the best beaches in WA, whale watching lookouts, various ecosystems, small bay communities and the Cape Naturaliste lighthouse. Heading off from the beach in Old Dunsborough, the well maintained trail winds its way past beach shacks before reaching the coastal scrub en-route to Meelup beach. Meelup is an iconic Australian beach with white sand and crystal clear waters. Protected from prevailing south west winds and swells it provides a safe swimming haven for the whole family. Stop here during peak season for an ice cream, picnic and a swim. Meelup to Eagle Bay is a little more rugged ascending the hill to higher views of the beautiful water. After a downhill wander, stunning Eagle Bay (and its café) looms in the distance. The trail continues down to the beach.

Beautiful hike along the coast line - shame we couldn’t enjoy the view because we were getting swarmed by flies the whole time. Don’t do this hike without a fly net over your face, which you can buy from the lighthouse entrance, close to the trailhead

Great trails with big jumps too. You sure need some jumping skills to get around the hard trails. if you are a beginner, I suggest you start with easy bits before attempting the hard areas.
