Welcome, to the Edith Cowan University Walk Trail. This trail has been designed to provide information to visitors on the campus about the biodiversity and sustainable initiatives of Edith Cowan University. Along the way, there will be information about the variety of flora and fauna, and information about the campus architecture and facilities. The original inhabitants of the Joondalup area were the Oor-dal-kalla people, the family group of Yellagonga, a prominent Aboriginal elder highly regarded in Noongar culture. It is from the Oor-dal-kalla people that Joondalup derives its name. The Noongar word is Doondalup and it means 'the lake that glistens'.
