A mix of bush trails and urban skyline glimpses. Reasonably well defined walking / mountain biking tracks for most of the way. Views of Fairfield boat house, Yarra River, city skyline and fruit bat colony. From the east end of the Fairfield pipe bridge follow river upstream past boat house. Just before you get to Grange Road bridge loop uphill and pick up the mountain bike track along side Yarra Boulevard. When you reach the fence jump over the road and continue uphill on the bike track. Maybe take a breather on the bench when you make it to the hill top trigonometry marker and take in the view. Take the track downhill, cross Yarra Boulevard again at Wurundjeri spur lookout and find the bush path heading south parallel to the road (alternatively take Yarra Boulevard downhill). Cross the road bridge over freeway. Just south of Wiltshire Road, start on the pedestrian path uphill, the quickly via onto the mountain bike trail on right hand side and follow road around until dirt track finishes. Head downhill on the path and cross back over Yarra boulevard again (for the last time) and head down Bellbird Road to the carpark. Toilets available here. From the car park head upstream (north) with the river on your left hand side through the extensive bat colony. Continue along this occasionally rough track high on the river bank, underneath the freeway, then eventually return back to your starting point.
