Easy to follow track, only passed a handful of people the entire way around. A little steep in some areas but overall it was fine. Lots of wildlife close to the path so if that bothers you don’t go alone!

A nice trail, not overly hard but nice views. Lots of kangaroos and birds. Really good signs and markers. Worth a try. Distance is more like 18 km.

Relatively flat walk. Lots of wildlife to see. Roos everywhere at dusk. Path very well marked and easy to follow.

Map my hike said about 15.5km even though the signs say 18km. Pretty nice walk although not much shade in some parts. Took us 4 hours with weighted packs (training for overnight hike). We saw lots of kangaroos, a wallaby, some kind of bird of prey (wedge tailed eagle perhaps) and rainbow lorikeets.

Really enjoyed this walk. Very well sign posted, just need to look for the next orange post or arrow. Variety of terrains and changing flora. Saw several kangaroos and deer. I suspect the walk is more than 15km. Our app showed we’d done 18km, other walkers said it was around 16km. The track sign posts also say 18km Definitely recommend doing this on cooler overcast days as there are many sections without shade

Great track for trail running. Can be tricky in a few steep spots when muddy.

Took us just on 3 hours to walk this circuit. There’s a couple of hills, the trees and area changes as you walk around which I enjoyed, there’s also some pretty boring parts. I wouldn’t do it again but if you’re looking for a long walk 16-18km depending on what sign you look at. Just stick to the orange posts and you can’t go wrong! Enjoy.

Some beautiful spots along the way. At approximately the halfway point there are views back to the city. Saw a lot of kangaroos, echidnas, lizards and native birds. This walk took us right on four hours, walking at a leisurely pace with a few short stops along the way.

Great training ground for trail running, a nice undulating course with a mixture of grass and trail surfaces to navigate.

Good walk, not too challenging, a couple of hills and a relatively long track. Well marked most of the way. Would happily do this walk again.

I did this hike in preparation for Mt Kilimanjaro and thought it was a bit basic for my goal but the scenery was beautiful. Not very hilly and quite well signposted but a nice walk.

What everyone else has said is true - the part at the end is not well signposted. But a great spot for trail running.

The Alltrails directions bring you to an ample parking lot and picnic area. We were welcomed by two kangaroos, and saw another pair near the end of the loop. Since we are from the US, that was a big deal for us. We also saw lots of birds - one looked like a red parrot. The hike is mostly flat, with one somewhat steep hill. Amazing lake views. Trail is well marked, and as another reviewer mentioned, there's a spot near the end (if you go counterclockwise) that has tall grass and the marks are hard to find. In that case, keep along (and inside) the fence and the markings eventually reappear. A couple spots had quite a few flies and grasshoppers. We brought insect repellant, and that appeared to work well. We totaled just over 15 km. Temp was in the 20 - 22C range, and we needed about 1 liter of water per person. Only saw three people on the trail (and one person on a bike on the road near the dam). Signs indicate that no dogs are allowed, but we did see some dog poop along the way.

Easy to follow markers. We did get a little lost towards the end when the markers cut through the tree line. Follow the markers! Bring plenty of water.

Just a beautiful place. The walk is mostly along the reservoir and the scenery is just amazing. Few climbs up hill in some sections but nothing too difficult. We found a toilet in the middle of the trail couldn’t believe it. We didn’t use it but hey if you were desperate it’s there the hole in the ground as my kids put it. Will do this Hike again only in reverse. Start Saddle Dam car park over the Dam wall on to the track and back to the car park.

Beautiful trail. Takes quite a bit of unassisted rock scrambling so make sure you wear proper shoes with good grip.
