This is a great family friendly walk around the Sugarloaf Reservoir. There are plenty of kangaroos and lizards to see. Make sure to bring sunscreen and enough water! This area is particularly buggy so consider bringing bug spray as well.

The north and eastern halves are the most interesting sections. The walk along the dam conversely is quite boring. The north and east sections are cooler woodlands. Factor that in your walk if hiking on a hot day. I did the loop clockwise: dont miss the first turn and follow the bright orange arrows and poles. The view from the north east knoll is superb.

Nice trail. Easy one with a small stretch of uphill. Saw Kangaroos on the way. Few shade areas on the way.

Beautiful hike! Started quite late and only came across a few people in the beginning. Saw a few kangaroos and a couple of echidnas and plenty of birds. Pretty easy track, but still tiring because of the distance.

Brilliant track, second time today in a clockwise direction. lots of wildlife and varied track.

Well marked trail wrapping with some shade but mostly exposed. It's challenging on a hot day due to the length, so bring lots of water. Some wildlife spotted including kangaroos, echidnas and a blue tongue lizard.

Well marked track with beautiful views of the reservoir. Tree down at one spot requiring short detour. Scarcely used picnic areas and decent BBQ facilities.

Fabulous trail with breathtaking views. The bugs (flies) were a nightmare for most of the trail however didn’t take away from the gorgeous day. There were a couple of major blockages due to fallen trees however easy enough to manoeuvre around. The track was well marked ( one of the best we’ve come across). The only negative was lack of water along the trail. At a couple of picnic spots we found water fountains with no taps. We only met one other tramper during the whole day. Would definitely do again

Was a nice easy walk. A couple of small steepish hills but I needed the exercise and it was exactly what I needed. We only walked to the pint and back and was a good walk.

An easy hike as most of the surface is flat and easy to navigate; just circle the lake. Lots of beautiful scenery and animals on the way. Great place to meditate while walking and enjoying a tranquil surrounding with sounds of trees, waves and birds.

15km, peace and tranquility by your side with the gentle breeze, singing of birds and views from rolling hills all along. 3.5 hrs to reflect on your life, when my meditative mind peace was taken away with the swooping of Magpies around S120 to S128 trail, my mind said, "May Day May Day, we are taking attacks, everybody take cover, take cover now"..... definitely going again for the walks.

I was in a bit of a rush and may have missed the signage but ended up running most service tracks around the perimeter which is only 12.5km. It still took 1.5 hours as one of the 2 hills killed me

I love this loop, done it heaps of times, definitely not more than 16km if you stick to the path. Always lots of wildlife and lovely, expansive views from the dam walls and from the top of the only hill - a nice spot to rest. Usually takes me 3.5 hours with a light pack. Take plenty of water, drinking water is only available in one car park and then only sometimes. Keep an eye out for echidnas!

Easy to follow track, only passed a handful of people the entire way around. A little steep in some areas but overall it was fine. Lots of wildlife close to the path so if that bothers you don’t go alone!

A nice trail, not overly hard but nice views. Lots of kangaroos and birds. Really good signs and markers. Worth a try. Distance is more like 18 km.

Map my hike said about 15.5km even though the signs say 18km. Pretty nice walk although not much shade in some parts. Took us 4 hours with weighted packs (training for overnight hike). We saw lots of kangaroos, a wallaby, some kind of bird of prey (wedge tailed eagle perhaps) and rainbow lorikeets.

Really enjoyed this walk. Very well sign posted, just need to look for the next orange post or arrow. Variety of terrains and changing flora. Saw several kangaroos and deer. I suspect the walk is more than 15km. Our app showed we’d done 18km, other walkers said it was around 16km. The track sign posts also say 18km Definitely recommend doing this on cooler overcast days as there are many sections without shade

Great track for trail running. Can be tricky in a few steep spots when muddy.

Took us just on 3 hours to walk this circuit. There’s a couple of hills, the trees and area changes as you walk around which I enjoyed, there’s also some pretty boring parts. I wouldn’t do it again but if you’re looking for a long walk 16-18km depending on what sign you look at. Just stick to the orange posts and you can’t go wrong! Enjoy.

Great track, beautiful views, and lots of kangaroos and other wildlife.

Some beautiful spots along the way. At approximately the halfway point there are views back to the city. Saw a lot of kangaroos, echidnas, lizards and native birds. This walk took us right on four hours, walking at a leisurely pace with a few short stops along the way.

Great training ground for trail running, a nice undulating course with a mixture of grass and trail surfaces to navigate.

Good walk, not too challenging, a couple of hills and a relatively long track. Well marked most of the way. Would happily do this walk again.
