This is a great trail to escape the city for the day. Dogs are allowed on leash and it's ideal for running. There are some rocky steep parts, but mostly easy. Just enough to get the blood flowing!

The best way I’ve found to do the you yangs is start from the eastern track, hit the peak and make your way down to the giant bird rock formation before circling back to the northern track, after you do this and have a snack and a break the western track will take you back to the starting point. You can get anything from 10km to 18.7km out of your day.

Great trail to walk with a dog ( on leash ).

Very technical in parts especially on tired legs. A great starting point for a longer run. Great training for the technical challenges. (Me)

Great trail - a bit rugged, and rocky when I last walked it. It took us roughly 3 hours to finish. A bit boring at the start of the walk from the carpark. It has a few steep climb but you’ll a good view at the top of the You Yangs.

Nice walk close to Melbourne. Dog friendly and a nice punchy climb to the peak or just do the loop.

Good walk lots of lookouts, dog friendly. Roughly 1 hour loop excluding track up to flinders peak.

Great beginners hike or if you want something more relaxing to do! Dogs allowed on leash. Some of the points have great views along the way, you just gotta know where to stop.

Pretty standard short Trail. Easy enough with a dog providing they can jump and are agile enough on rocks. 360 degree views of the ranges are good.

Great trail for hiking and trail running. Midweek, early mornings are the best time to do this trail. Weekends tend to be quite busy.

I didn’t personally like this trail very much. It was very very busy. Lots of people (loud people) and the views weren’t very interesting. It’s probably a beginner level hiking path to get a feel for it. For anyone else, I’d skip it.

Dog friendly trail/park. Dry-sandy a bit rocky sort of terrain. 1.5-2 hours loop walk depending of how often you stop for photos. Try to spot the eagle rock formation while you hike. Gorgeous view over the You Yangs.

It was my first time hiking and I was able to complete all three loops. I have moderate stamina and strength. Highly recommend
