Great track, not well marked in places so download map. Recommend going clockwise and get the steep rocky part out of the way first. Plenty of wildlife.

There is private property. They need to add more waypoints because it’s easy to get confused. Overall a great experience and would do again. Definitely come prepared with water, snacks and something to keep you warm

Thanks for your input. Unfortunately we don't have any user submitted waypoints, so it's difficult to assess exactly where they may be useful. You can always write to us or submit your open route/map if you have updated information that may be helpful to other users. Thanks!

HikingGreat!

Yep got to agree with other reviewers great walk, but quite a steep start that might catch some walkers out...and wear the right footwear....most of the track is very easy walking but proper footwear is essential for the start and finish of the ( going up and coming down ) high bit. Wouldn't want to do this walk in summer. Another reviewer didn't know if dogs were allowed but took his dog anyway..... Dogs are NOT allowed mate, as it states very clearly in the description and on information boards at the start of the walk.

I have walked trail a number of times and enjoy it every time. Lots of wildlife and wild flowers. some steep and rocky sections climbing in and out of the gorges so you need some moderate fitness. Beautiful lookouts and a few chairs scattered along the way.

Relatively easy walk with one steeper, rocky climb. Some nice spots on the loop to stop and look back over the gorge.

Hiking

Very nice loop with a bit of climbing. The parking was pretty full but most people were doing the shorter walk in the gorge. Lots of birds around. The GPS track goes to the reservoir but that ends at the base of the dam; better to turn left on the Burchell trail just before in order to view the reservoir.

Walking

Nice trail, good mix of climbing and flat walks. Rocky, woodland, low shrub, red clay & flat trail. Nice view at lookout. Couldn’t do the full circuit because we were on a tight schedule but will certainly be back.

Good combination of climbing and flat walking. Signs aren’t always obvious and mostly no phone service.

Great hike, no wildlife to see unfortunately but the view at the summit is great. Can get a little warm if the sun is out due to a reasonable canopy. Wear sunscreen as some areas without any protection from the sun.

Great walk for a sunny day. The trail has view points at various spots and the Melbourne skyline can be spotted. Keep an eye out for snakes!

It was a nice circuit with various different types of view / scenery. Unfortunately saw absolutely no wildlife of any sort of interest! Would have taken a few wrong turns if not following the map on screen...signage in a couple of places not clear.
