Onkaparinga Gorge is so close to Adelaide, featuring one of her very few rivers, and deserves to be better known. There are some quite steep up and down sections, and a considerable amount of rock clambering, all very slippery and somewhat treacherous. However, there are magnificent views initially over Old Noarlunga and out to sea, then of the river and the gorge. The bush itself is also very pleasant to walk through - with some wonderfully expressive gum trees - though the invasive prickly pear, olive and occasional fig seem to be well entrenched in places.
