This is the first section 'SECTION 1' of the Heysen Trail. Starting at the Cape Jervis trailhead, this spectacular section treks along a sandy coastal track and exposed undulating coastal hills and with breath taking coves and rugged coastline providing spectacular views over Backstairs Passage to Kangaroo Island. Sightings of seals and dolphins are not uncommon. At Blowhole Beach the trail enters Deep Creek Conservation Park to begin the long but rewarding climb through native bushland to the well maintained Cobbler Hill camp ground.

Beautiful trail and a perfect opening to the Heysen trail. Verry well maintained and indicated, with perfect little steps to get over the fences. Not a lot of shade initially but the final climb has a nice amount of trees for a little sun protection.
