Great hike from start to finish, a little of everything, rock scramble, climb, hike light navigating, good footwear, plenty of water on a sunny day take in the views and enjoy... either walk back along soldiers path or do Mt tibrogargen trail and get picked up from there... not super hard so majority of moderately fit people shouldn’t have a problem.
Really enjoyed this hike. Returned through Soldiers Settlers trail. Took us 3hr and 40mins. No real scary bits and changing views. Was nice to do a bushwalk for a change with a bit of a challenge rather than just a steep mountain climb. Just keep looking out for pink markers. We once or twice went off the track but soon realised and back tracked and found the markers.
Mozzie be gone! Weather was overcast and very humid but well worth the views rewarded after a steep climb up Beerburrum. Scramble on Yul-Yan-Man was a little to scary for me on the day.
It's awesome... not too difficult, just pay attention to the markers. please note that some idiots have scraped the pink of some of the markers and are very difficult to see. just follow the most obvious way through and you'll be right :)
Enjoying a lovely winter morning for a walk that is new to us. We found a bit of easy scrambling to get around the side of Mt Beerburrum, then the track evened out a bit. Some of the surface was rocky, but easy enough to walk. Just before we met the Trachyte track there was a long angled rock slide to descend. There were rough footholds, but we did use hands and feet and bums to safely descend parts of it. Much busier when we reached the Trachyte trail.
Tibro trailhead along Yal-Yan-Man trail, up beerburrum and back via soldiers settlers track
Super enjoyed this great trail through forest, over rock, bit of a scramble in places, just a great trail with lovely views along the way. I went as far as the Jack Ferris Lookout then returned and went up Beerburrum on the way back which was a bit of a disappointment being a concrete track all the way up with just ok views. Would definitely do the Yin Yan track again probably not the Beerburrum
Awesome trail! Amazing views. Took about 2 hours to complete the track, that’s allowing stopping time to take in the views. Beautiful yellow tail cockatoos on completion. We did it from the Mt Beerburrum end, then came back via soldiers settler trail.
@travelwithjoesteph on Instagram Glasshouse Mountains Yul-Yan-Man Track: You’re not necessarily climbing a mountain here, but there are a few fun scrambles along the way. Mount Beerburrum is at the start of this track and can make for a fun optional hike up for those who like to get the heart pumping. The track itself is longer than anticipated (about 12 km return) and offers a few glimpses of the Glasshouse Mountains from a different perspective. Not the best hike we’ve been on, but good for those wanting to shake things up a bit! ↠ View: 3/5 Difficulty: 3/5 Time: 3 Hours Return
I walked from new Mounts Tibberoowuccum/ Tibrogargan Carpark/ picnic area to lookout at Northern end of Yul-yanman Track. Then explored off track, to summit of peak SSW of the lookout guidepost on the Yul-yanman Track. Off track was overgrown scrub, but I managed to scramble my way to the summit, where I started a new rock cairn.
Great hiking track, a fair bit of on-all-4s rock scrambling. Wear good shoes with lots of grip (I use Merrel trail runners) as you'll be climbing 45° angle boulders. Remember to follow the little pink triangles, and keep an eye on the map on this app! I went off track and would have been lost without following the map on here. Quite an exhilarating trek!
