At 632m Mt Edwards is the conical-shaped peak rising beside the Cunningham Highway. The national park was gazetted in 1966. It encompasses Mt Edwards, Little Mt Edwards, part of Reynolds Creek as well as a very nice gorge with pine trees on one side. Walk across the dam wall and then you come to the beginning of the track. It is well marked and rocky all the way up. From the Gorge Lookout there great views of Little Mt Edwards. Be careful at cliff edges. Once at the top there is a survey marker. As well as different lookouts offering many vantage points.

Solid uphill grade, fairly rocky and exposed to the elements. Nice view of Arafura from the top

I did the trail twice and I still find it a challenging one. It gets pretty steep but you can reach the top in an hour. I like this hike as a nice morning hike.

HikingGreat!

Well marked track. Don't let the first part of the track fool you. It is a heart pumping climb. Great leg workout. Spotted a good size lizard along the way. Great view at the top.

Hiking

Not a long hike but the gradient becomes relentless not long after the opening section. There's an easily missed side trail partway up on the left that leads to a small clearing with partial views of Moogerah Lake (there was a huge 1.5m tall rock cairn when I visited). You cross the dam wall to access the trail and a sign on the gate said it opened at 5:30am in summer months. Encountered a solitary couple on the descent after starting at 6:15am on a Monday. Rocky and pebbly but sneakers were fine in dry conditions. Consumed 1l water. 2 wallabies. Wonderful ambiance and beautiful views from the top.

Nice hike. Certainly works your cardio going up but totally worth it for the views. Pretty shady but now it's getting warmer I suggest plenty of water. Good clear track and a good " shorter walk "

The trial was quite good for a non maintained trail. We went up in 53 mins and down in 45. Steepish in parts which gets your hr up. Take 700 mls of water.

First part of the hike is awesome, anything past the first slab is not great. A hike where you think you're almost at the end and then it keeps going. Phone + Smart Watch clocked it at 11.3km from the carpark to summit and back. The views are worth it though

Hiking

Very steep incline, 3km from car park to summit. Rocky and uneven terrain the whole way pretty well. Only has views to the north and east at the summit. Not many views on way up at all. Good to get the heart pumping but I’m not in a hurry to do it again. Took me 1:07 to get up and just over two hours all up.

Trail itself at this time of year is okay. Some but not many landscape views along the way but the view at the top is extraordinary. Relatively steep incline, recommend wearing decent boots/shoes. Good walk, would recommend.

Great trail, well marked and quite steep. Recommend wearing hiking boots as terrain is rocky. Beautiful view, can see Brisbane skyline very faintly on a clear day. Approximately 1 to 1h30min to reach the summit, depending on fitness level.
