Getting There

The trail will take around the Enoggera Reservoir, which is a great place to stop for a swim in the summer time. It's rated as difficult due to the distance.

There are many facilities along the trail, all listed as waypoints. Please check them out before going hiking.

Be sure to checkout the Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre to gain local maps and knowledge of the surrounding area before hiking. Some trails are closed during the year due to planned burns and large trail events. Walkabout Creek Discovery Centre 60 Mount Nebo Rd, Enoggera Reservoir QLD 4520 (07) 3164 3600 https://parks.des.qld.gov.au/parks/daguilar/walkabout-creek.html

Starting at sunrise is always best. Pack: Plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and swimmers (if you want to go for a quick swim along the way).

Hike begins and finishes at the same point, where there is a large car park. JC Slaughter Falls, Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, Mt Coot-tha

A good great walk except the main tracks link between two parks have closed due to the security reason, so I have to finsih the Mt coot-tha circuit first then take public transport to the other one.

Exceptional Day Out with A+ facilities - Last Climb @ 25km in is a great fitness test - absolutely nothing challenging other than the distance - great training walk

One section near the dam is closed so you have to make your way around on the road. Other than that a great trail to run.

First to Review

I completed this trail in March 2019. It was long and very strenuous. It’s also known as the “am I dead yet?” trail. I completely understood why at the 20 km mark. It has plenty of spots to and fill up your water bottle along the trail. If you are hiking in the summer time; I would definitely recommend starting the trail an hour or 2 before sunrise and wear a head lamp. As this trail took me about 7 hours to complete. Being so close to the edge of Brisbane was a great bonus also. Easy trail to access and there were no obstacles on any of the path. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
