Park at the bottom in Slaughter Falls Picnic area, or at the top at the Summit (tends to be crowded). The view at the top is spectacular! There is a cafe up the top too. Compared to other mountain hikes, the walk is relatively easy. Bubblers along the way and toilets at start and finish. For updated trail information please contact the Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre phone Council on 07 3403 8888.

Well shaded and plenty of bubblers along the way. Recommend to follow the same path up and down, small detour after summit overgrown however still walkable if bush bashing is your thing.

Really enjoyed the walk to the top. I don’t have the greatest fitness but it was satisfying getting to the top and worth the effort. I also detoured to see the JC Slaughter Falls which was okay but dry. Coffee at the top is a bonus and the walk down was easy. Go early before it gets too hot!

Easy bit of lunchtime exercise. Come after 10:30am and it’s very quiet.

I walked in from the Chapel Hill Environmental Hut entrance. The track was in great condition and at 6:30am the traffic was pretty minimal. I had a healthy leg burn going on up the moderately steep and it was 35min round trip if you jog most of the way down. This track is accessible by almost all, as I passed people from all ages, dogs big and small and a guy pushing a pram up the slopes. The view is worth the hike up! Enjoy

Summit trail is open! Many Cockatoos just beside the trail. The ground looks like its been newly paved with gravel.

Great views from the summit. As other reviews, the trail itself is closed, but don’t miss out on the panoramic.

The summit trail is closed at the moment (April 2019) so we took the Mahogany trail instead. It was great! The dog went on-lead, we left around 2.30pm it was 28⁰C, got to the summit cafe after 40 mins and had a coffee and a rest with a gorgeous view. Then we headed back down the hill around 4pm, it was slightly cooler at 26⁰. Fantastic way to spend a Saturday afternoon, 5 stars would recommend. We will be back again soon.

loved this trail! the 'falls' were just puddles only due to lack of rain. the view at the top is spectacular! theres a cafe up the top too. I saw another trail on the other side of the mountain for next time! compared to other mountain hikes, the walk is easy! Bubblers along the way and toilets at start and finish

30 mins slow walk up the Summit along a dirt path with some stairs. Recommend parking at JC Slaughter Falls car park or close by. Often very busy of a weekend morning, but still very enjoyable. The Mahogany Track is longer, less scenic, but pleasant and generally follows the road up to the summit.

This trail takes 1hr easy pace. Lots of steps. There an probably side trail to the aboriginal circuit trail that takes an extra 20min. It's worth checking it out. If walked after a heavy rain there would be a flowing creek by the trail n waterfalls in different sections. Nice to start from the slaughter falls picnic area. Lots of beautiful big old trees at the picnic area. Nice place to picnic.
