Moss Garden Walk via Big Bend Walk is a 4.7 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Carnarvon Park, Queensland, Australia that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and walking.
Try avoid the hottest part of the day, and keep the dehydration away. Plenty of choices for sights to see and lots of creatures behind every tree. The hike before you is one to behold, with such beauty and nature, as foretold.
Second day at Carnarvon Gorge was just out to the Amphitheatre and Moss Garden and back. The further sights were visited on the longer walk the previous day.
Managed to do this one in approx 10hrs with stopping. Relatively easy (only good balance needed) for track up to Boowinda Gorge, from there it gets a bit trickier as far as foot placement is concerned, then the climb up to Battleship Spur is extremely fatiguing on the legs. Even higher fitness levels I'd recommend walking one day to Big Bend and camping there overnight to rest before doing Battleship Spur the next day as coming back down and walking the ≈14km back to the day use area is a big mission. Do-able but very exhausting. The walk itself is absolutely stunning, rock hopping over stepping stones over the creek a dozen times with breathtaking views of the gorges cliffs. Highly recommended and I WILL be back again.
Trail to Art Gallery, Ward Gorge amphitheater and moss garden.
