Kahlpahlim Rock and Lambs Head is a 6.4 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Mareeba, Queensland, Australia that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options.
Steep climb up to the peak with several small level sections. Intersects with the Kalpalhim Trail about 1km from peak. This route shows a few detours from the standard route to the rock and also leads to the Boulder Climb on the west. Fantastic views in some spots. Some severe dropoffs from viewpoints so take care and check the ropes before you climb. Watch out for the Black Snakes in the sunny spots and at the top by the Solar panels.
Took about 2 hours to get to the top where the solar panels are and about 1.5 hours down. visibility was zero due to a low level cloud that moved in as soon as I got there but luckily I hung around long enough for it to move on long enough for me to see some views.
The weather was average, heavy cloud when we arrived top of the rock. Low vis that the view was limited. Other than that, a worthy place to visit and nice track, quite challenging at beginning. Dry season hike up to Devils pool and falls. Water amazing. Clear and cool.
