THE best way to see Fraser Island hands down. I'd been to Fraser by 4x4 previously but the lakes were overcrowded and not that much fun. In the 5 days we hiked the Great Walk, every afternoon we had a lake to ourselves because the walk took you to parts of the lake that were inaccessible by vehicles. We went in April. The trail is pretty flat most of the way with not many hills.
