This loop is great for trail running and normally takes 1-3 hours. There is mix of narrow trails and wide fire trails. Relatively hilly but enough of a break between climbs to keep well rested Section 1: Walkabout Creek to Fire Trail This section is a nice single track trail that winds it's way along the water edge through trees Grade: Easy non technical well maintained and flat Section 2: Fire Trail around lake Relatively easy with a few steep ascents and descents but plenty of separation to get your breath back. Steeps sections can be rutted out and stoney but mostly good under foot. Few creek entries and while not flooded be aware in the wet. Grade: Easy mildly technical fire trail all the way Section 3: Around Reservoir wall to Walkabout Creek Road section which is a shame after such a nice forested trail Grade: Easy slight uphill on grass, road and pavement

Great trail. I loved it. Not too difficult and mostly under trees.

Really nice walk, the end of that trail is private property, you can't cross the damn or at least i couldn't figure out how! So when you reach the toilet, time to hit the road on your right!

Great little trail if you're short on time and can't do the full Enoggera Circuit.

At this time of year, very dry. However, a very decent walk with a nice view of the reservoir throughout. Would recommend.

Great route for a novice trail runner like me with lots of flat sections combined with some challenging hills. I really enjoyed the challenge but I did do several extra KMs because of the poor signage. And like several others I followed the map and edged through the bushy section along the fence near the dam, only to find the route ahead blocked by a locked gate and barbed wire on the bridge, so had to retrace my steps and use Google maps to find my way back to the visitor centre (don't go along the dam fence if going anti-clockwise, when you see the dam just head straight for The Gap bus depot and go through the car park next to it to rejoin the track on the other side).

Great for trail ride this morning. Lovely clear day. Didn’t pass a soul. The perfect place to breath and clear the head.

Really enjoyed this hike the only parttat spoils it is having to cut through the bus depot. Quite a few hills to get the heart and legs pumping. Plenty of birdlife saw red bellied black

Nice well maintained trail, relatively scenic with good views of the reservoir. Watch for swooping butcher birds at the cafe.

Good trail. Walking around the dam. Some up hills. 11km - 3hours. At the end, have a nice coffee at Green Tree Frog Cafe with a small zoo underneath (adults $8).

Nice 11km hike. Tracks aren't sign posted very well and went the wrong way but glad I did as had some awesome hills.

Went ant clockwise, was great until the end when you reach the dam and the bridge is closed by two gates and barbed wire. Tracked back and went around the whole perimeter and eventually got back to the track. Very nice run apart from that, took an hour and 20 at steady pace stopping for photos etc

took it anti clockwise from enclosed swim zone. nice run except it ends with having to climb a fence to get to mt nebo road and back to the car park... disappointing finish to an otherwise nice trail.

Great walk with some hills, nothing too challenging. start at walkabout creek discovery centre, then take a photo of the bike route at the start, go anticlockwise until the dam, then nip around the fencing and walk back to the visitor centre along the main road

Fantastic trail run. Some eroded sections on the steep downhillers but nothing problematic. The 3km single trail at the start is fantastic with great dam views

Good circular walk but v confusing around the dam. We walked anticlockwise and couldn’t find where to pick up the path. Don’t follow the fence around the dam as others have. It leads to a locked gate on a bridge. Walk towards the bus station and through the car park to pick up the trail there. Didn’t know you could swim in the lake. We’ll bring towels next time.
