Enoggera Reservoir Circuit is a 7 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round.
Note: As of August 16, 2020, partial trail closures have been reported around Walkabout Creek Visitor Centre and Araucaria Circuit for planned burn operations. Please consult the park's website before visiting. This loop is great for trail running and normally takes 1-3 hours. There is mix of narrow trails and wide fire trails. Relatively hilly but enough of a break between climbs to keep well rested. Section 1: Walkabout Creek to Fire Trail This section is a nice single track trail that winds it's way along the water edge through trees Grade: Easy non technical well maintained and flat Section 2: Fire Trail around lake Relatively easy with a few steep ascents and descents but plenty of separation to get your breath back. Steeps sections can be rutted out and stoney but mostly good under foot. Few creek entries and while not flooded be aware in the wet. Grade: Easy mildly technical fire trail all the way Section 3: Around Reservoir wall to Walkabout Creek Road section which is a shame after such a nice forested trail Grade: Easy slight uphill on grass, road and pavement
Car park closes around 4:30pm. Park on road verge outside of hours. Information centre near car park. Track: Marked; Over grown in parts but visible, easy grade
Warm, sunny day 29-31 C. Walked anticlockwise around the lake. Beautiful walk! Bellbirds, waterfowl, and large eagle. Goanna scurried up the tree beside me. A few steep sections to give your heart and lungs something to do.
It was great but somehow I took a wrong turn and ended up near where I started not the full loop... I’ll try it again and not to get lost!
Great distance and nice up and downs. A few good peaks to get the heart rate up there but plenty of opportunity to actively rest.
Great trail with some decent hills. Could do with some better signage particularly towards the end :)
Nice hike w quite a bit of elevation- nice m’tea spot by the creek then up to the mine shaft and along on to the fire trail and back to the swimming area
