Curtis Falls and Lower Creek Circuit is a 1.7 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Mount Tamborine, Queensland, Australia that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round.
This is a very popular short, easy track that goes to the beautiful Curtis Falls. It can get quite packed in nice weather so arrive early! The trail can get muddy after rain, especially if many hikers have come through recently.
Toilets at the trailhead.
We passed the official track marked on the map. Water was fast and deep where we crossed the creek crawling over the log that was put across the creek. It was getting darker, we managed to come to the road and walk back to the car. Bruise on ribs from slipping in the mud and hitting a rock, stings from gympie tree (or something like that). We wouldn't grade this section of the track easy. There was lots of debris from the heavy rain and very muddy. We recommend wearing proper hiking boots.
Went on a very wet weekend. Rain before. Rain during. And after. Mud Everywhere. Somehow people everywhere despite the off putting conditions. Beautiful little creek. Been before but way more water this time
Very muddy after the rain . Waterfalls in full flow made it worthwhile
We did this walk 2 days after the March 2021 1 in 60 year floods and there was a lot of debris covering the track. we had to turn back at the end of the circuit because the river was too high to cross and there was no footbridge. But overall a very scenic and enjoyable walk with lots of flying foxes and small lizards. The waterfall was pumping!
One of my favourite walks on Tambourine Mountain. it's worth it to do the entire walk, including the lower circuit, besides just looking at Curtis Falls.
