Crystal Cascades and Fairy Falls is a 1.9 mile out and back trail located near Cairns, Queensland, Australia that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, trail running, and nature trips.
Fairy Falls are so beautiful, track not easy to follow and no pink ribbons so i just followed the creek bed, waterfall is in the shade so the water was freezer, but felt exhilarating. Theres a small pool about halfway which gets some afternoon sun, great spot to rejuvenate the soul. Not suitable for small children Crystal Cascades are a must when visiting Cairns, easy wide concrete track with many pools along the way with a large pool and taller fall at the top. Fun for those that like jumping.
The cascades are beautiful with an easy, paved track. There is a small hidden ledge behind the waterfall but please take care if exploring. Gets very busy over the weekend but with multiple swimming holes there is space for everyone. Its close proximity to Cairns makes it a wonderful local spot. Fairy Falls can be accessed from the back corner of the car park, beside the stinging tree warning sign. It's another nice place to swim but slightly trickier to get to - there is some rock scrambling involved. I wouldn't bother unless the car park is empty, as it's a small space and better without the crowds.
