Cannabullen Falls from Hinson Creek Trailhead. From the trail head follow Cannabullen Creek Track then turn onto Cardwell Range Track before later turning onto the Cannabullen Falls Track. A very pleasant and mostly level walk until you get close to the falls, at which time there is a short but steep scramble to get down to the falls themselves. Make sure to explore downstream to the top of Cannabullen Falls themselves, before exploring upstream to bottom of beautiful 2nd falls and swimming hole. Rated hard due to scramble at end only - most of track moderate / easy.

Great walk to the falls yesterday. We are a reasonably fit couple 57 and 64 years old and did the walk easily in four and a half hours including a swim and morning tea at the Falls. Take your time going down the last steep section of the track there’s plenty of footholds and trees to help you. At the sign after the first creek crossing make sure you go right towards the falls lookout and not left along the Cannbullen Track.

Great trail. Very nice patches of rainforest. The view from the top of the falls is brilliant, especially if you're not afraid to sit on the edge. However, the view from the bottom is better if you're truly adventurous ;)

Fairly easy. Steep scramble down to waterfalls, lots of trees to aid you. 4.5hrs return with a break at the falls.

Did this walk on Sunday 29th March, No leeches "ladies" just a few young dickheads with a boombox, who thought we should all hear this doof doof music in peaceful nature. A great walk, the only tricky part is the last 10 min down to the waterfall etc. we are in our mid 50s and it's pretty easy.

Did this with a small group and my 11 yr old in tow. Really enjoyed the walk and the view is amazing from the waterfall. Few things worth noting. The road out becomes dirt for a portion of the last bit to the trail head. I managed this fine in a small 2wd but but cautious of staying out of the wheel dips as you will bottom out in sections. I’d be a little hesitant to drive in in rain in a small car. The walk itself has a section near the start that is quite steep going but has a plastic mesh to help keep your grip but definitely wear shoes with a decent tread as you will slip. Be on alert for the wait a while plant along the track. It’s keen to have you stop and chat . There are 2 creek crossings. The first is a rock Hop over VERY slippery rocks. Easily done but be aware. The next is a walk through the water, so shoes off, below the knee depth. Heaps of leeches at this creek crossing. Pack tweezers and bushmans/aerogauard to help fight off. Go left at the 2.2km sign post. This at first appears like it loops. It doesn’t. Go left to get to the waterfall. The steep scramble to the bottom is just that STEEP. It is manageable but be prepared to get down on your bum to get down if you are not the mountain goat inclined. It’s slippery but plenty of trees to hold and help you down. Just watch your footing and plan your next step. Climbing back up is much easier then getting down. Once at the waterfall, breathtaking. Definitely worth the walk in. You can cross over and rock Hop over to the edge with care. It’s very high, no coming back if you fall. Beautiful little pool a safe distance from the edge and while cold is wasn’t icey cold like some of the other freshwater creeks I’ve explored. All in all, beautiful walk through the rainforest with an awesome view at the end. I’d definitely recommend going in with a few able bodied friends who are steady on their feet to help with the slippery rocks crossings and the downward scramble at the end if you yourself aren’t as confident in those sort of conditions. Definitely manageable solo but an steady hand to help if you can is a good idea.

90% of the trail is a dream - just a short and steep scramble to get down to the top of the falls.
