This trail is part of the Mackay Highlands Great Walk (section 2 - Broken River to Crediton Hall). There are some over grown parts and one part with a really bad blow down which includes a giant tree and mass of vines that we could not get through, so we had to bushwhack up a hill and back down again to join back up with the trail. We completed this trail in May 2019 for Mother’s Day. It was the start of the cool weather and we almost stood on 4 snakes during the walk, all of which were in sunny parts of the track soaking up the warmth. It was a really pretty walk that followed the river the majority of the time. We stayed overnight at Crediton Hall campground, which needs to be booked online via the Mackay Tourism website as it is not National Park campground. Crediton Hall campground has hybrid toilets, hand basin, covered picnic table with bbq. It’s a very peaceful campground with a creek running right behind it.
