A well-signed and medium to heavily walked trail that will feel pretty familiar if you're active across the SEQ region. What is spoiled by the constant sound of trucks air braking down the nearby highway, is gained by the unique perspective of the historic significance of the "gap" itself. The views down into the lowlands are worth the quick round trip, this isn't a difficult one and it's worth appreciating despite the lure of greater hikes nearby. If that undersells it a little, keep in mind this is still the beautiful ranges, with some unique bush aspects to view on the way up and down (I personally love the grass trees).

The track is well marked, a gentle elevation up to the top. It is long but not hard. It took us 4.5hrs including 20min break n lunch. Allowing time here n there for photos. It would be perfect for a summer hike as it's mostly shaded. I enjoyed the flora n fauna along the way. The birds are chirping away, wild flowers here n there. Orchids will bloom apparently in the spring time, will definitely come back for that. Coming down was a breeze. Easy gentle run down is great.

Great hike up the side of Cunninghams Gap, stead incline as you climb Cordeaux, stunning outlook over the Tarome countryside (east) then a casual hike out to Bare Rock, more stunning views in clear weather

Second time doing this track but this time we went for the sunrise. We stopped at the Mount Cordeaux lookout as this gave a great easterly view. If you prefer views over a challenge, this is the walk for you. It took a group of 8 of us 49 minutes to get to the lookout from the car park guided by head torches.

Nice gradual hike with a great view at the end! Would recommend including the extra distance to Bare Rock. We saw a brown snake sunning itself across the path so keep an eye out.

Great summer trail as the track is shady. Been twice now and on 2nd hike was treated to 2 d lyrebirds striking beside the track. Sitting out on the lookout is hot, so would recommend big shady hat.

Great walk and surprisingly not too steep, considering the impressive views from the top.

Be prepared to walk up hill! It’s beautiful. Go to Bald rock and soak up the views while you refuel. It’s all downhill from there ;-) We saw three Lyrebirds along the way!

Very nice winter time walk, was very fresh in the rainforest, but not too cold with long pants & a light jacket on. Definitely would get muggy & uncomfortable to do in the summertime I feel. Really pleasant views & lots of interesting different trees the whole way, but the views at the top were absolutely stunning. took about an hour up & an hour down for this part of the hike, however we went on further to Bare Rock another extra 45 mins up & back & it was so worth the extra km, the view got even better!

Good trail, a bit slippery at times (due to lose soil), moderate intensity, a few interesting things to see on the way to the top. Windy peak with fabulous views. Bring some snacks to share at the top, rocky surface to sit on and enjoy the scenery... ✌

Lovely walk. Not difficult in terms of skill level but is a long walk up and good to get the blood pumping. Can be done with kids. The look out is beautiful however please note you cannot actually go up to the peak as that is closed. Worth the extra 40 minutes or so to go to Bare rock as the views from there are better.

Fantastic easy hike with great eastern views. Well signed and a well worn trail. We went up on a winter morning and it couldn’t have been better. Blue bird day and the perfect temp. Definitely recommend this one if you’re taking someone new to hiking. The trip to Bare Rock is well worth it to see the range to the north in all its glory!
