Description
Waypoints (1)

This route is an easy day trip from Sydney out to Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. The trail is rocky in parts so adequate footwear is recommended. The walking track follows Cowan Creek all the way to Bobbin Head before returning to the car park and picnic area at the Sphinx Memorial. The first half of the route is stellar and treats you to beautiful scenery as you walk near mangroves that line the creek. You might see crabs, Goanna, or any of a wide range of birdlife here. Once you reach Bobbin Head the route is less exciting as it follows a fire trail back through the forest to the starting point. While relatively straightforward and well-trafficked the route doesn't have much signage so some navigating may be necessary.

Overall fun trail. As said in other reviews, first half more ‘interesting’ as it’s by the mangroves (can see crabs). Second half is like a service trail. Tips: 1. Trails starts to the right, right after the toll gate 2. If you make it to the Marina in Bobbin Head, you’ve gone too far. Have to turn right earlier to head back

half of the track is nice as it's next to the water with view and we saw a big Goanna. other half is the bush is less exciting as it looks like a fire track for service. flat and can run on this half

OK - was an easy track - not medium like saved trail. When you get to the Marina, instead of following zip zag fire trail up, there is a bush track that cuts right through it. That would make more fun...

Lovely trail. Went the morning after a big downpour the night before and it was barely muddy. Very scenic, good to take trail shoes. Go the way it mentions (down the track first) as the last 3km is just an easy going fire trail.

We really enjoyed this trail! It had a bit of everything - water views, mangroves, mini waterfalls, rainforest and normal bush. The Sphinx memorial was cool too, very random too. Quite busy on the weekend though so not the best choice if you want a walk that isn’t busy.

Wicked track. Recommend first thing in the morning for best lighting. saw my first Lyrebird ever so I was pretty stoked. They are normally pretty elusive. Nearly rolled my ankle once but other than that was pretty safe. Power home straight to the fish line if you're running. Enjoy the experience.
