HikingGreat!

Beautiful track, easy to follow. Slow descend and ascend, so not too hard at all. Loved it!

Did this October long weekend 2019 (forgot to review it!) We did the Katoomba to Jenolan direction, in 3 days, camping at Cox's River, and Black Range. Others manage it in 2 days, staying at Alum Creek. Some people even run it in a single day! Even the 3 day version is a challenge. When we did this hike, there was extensive bushfire damage in parts, but nothing that affected the path, and most of it was green and breathtakingly beautiful. Jenolan was closed, with the daily bus not running, so we had to share a taxi that came from Katoomba! I highly recommend doing it in reverse - Jenolan to Katoomba, as the second day in the normal direction, has a killer multi-hour uphill from Cox towards Alum, followed by a looong boring burnt section to Black Range. Both of those sections are fire trails, so expect 4WDs and dirt bikes throwing up dust! Also, in reverse, you finish in civilisation. Hot tips: - Try to take the lightest backpack and camping gear possible, as this is a long, difficult hike. - You'll need lots of water, but fortunately there are many creeks. Take chlorine tablets and a filter bottle, or a lifestraw kit. - Try to take mostly lightweight food, like sachets you add water to. I had a heavy backpack, too much water, and too much heavy food, and would have loved to be carrying 5kg less, like my mate.

Great walk, I would definitely start from Jenolan Caves, yes day 2 an arduous 20k walk to cox’s campsite but I might be one of those few ppl that don’t mind putting one foot in front of the other and just plugging along on a fire trail :) Taxi from Katoomba 3 of us $70 each

Beautiful track and views on day 1, Explorer Tree down to Cox River Camp. Day 2 Cox River camp to Black Range Camp, phew very challenging elevation on my fitbit showed 1232 Day 3 Black Range Camp to Jenolan Caves - yeah baby down hill to the finish - amazing views of beautiful Blue Mountains and the regrowth of the bush from the devastation 2019 /2020 fires.

Good challenge. Lots of fire road. No real water sources after alum Creek campground so refill your water there for the climb.

Some parts are beautiful and the Megalong valley at its best. But far too often I was on roads rather than trails. All in all though a fun multi-day walk

Honestly not my favourite track. It's great for a challenge though. 1st day is a beautiful walk. 2nd day: For the vast majority of the track you walk along a fire trail that's in active use. We got passed by at least 30 cars. 3rd day: Similar to the 2nd day. Only good for the first hour and then you just parallel the main road to Jenolan. Don't get me wrong, it's very challenging and rewarding but it's just too highly trafficked for my liking. Too many cars, not enough sense of seclusion and not enough of a sense of going into the wild.

I really enjoyed this track people always want views this has the occasional beautiful view bit the real enjoyment should come from the challenge involved. try it guys it's an amazing hike it took me 3 days oh as for water you can drink the rainwater or river water but make sure you treat it. I didn't but then again I have always drunk rainwater so I may be a little more tolerant of it.

A wonderful trek. Varied countryside and stunning views. Track is moderate not hard. Maybe some technical sections at the very beginning. Well Maintained and very well signposted. Brace yourself for the long fire trail walk up hill in the second half. That section is annoying but the rest of it absolutely makes up for it. Train to Katoomba. Private bus from Jenolan Caves to Katoomba.

Very easy to follow, marked well and map not needed. Second day is tough - would not recommend going the opposite way (Jenolan to Katoomba) if you don’t like going down hill! The first night camp ground is beautiful. Fantastic walk, generally not HARD, more moderate.

While this walk has heritage, just be aware that it may be pleasant between katoomba and the cox's river, and Jenolan is stunning, the six foot track also features a 20km walk down a 4WD track in a state forest. This walk is seriously over rated. It's only a suitable recommendation to novices. Also be aware this is not a hard grade walk. If you have any multiday hiking experience, try Katoomba to Kanangra instead.

Family with 7year old and 10 year old. Lovely hike. Beautiful and regular water and stream access makes it.
