This is the shortest but hardest of the overnights walks from Newnes. It traverses rugged pagoda country, takes you past one of the highest cliffs in the Blue Mountains and offers spectacular views over the Wolgan and Capertee valleys and Newnes Plateau. Camping is on a number of level sites among the pagodas or inside one of many camping caves.

I took on this trail just after the bushfires and flash flooding which made it a little more challenging but nonetheless enthralling. GPS and trail finding skills are a must! Be sure to take at least 5-6litres of water in warmer months when ascending as water sources are unreliable at mount Dawson Caves/Summit.
