This was a great track but keep your eyes peeled for the markers as some of the track is a little overgrown. There's lots of wildlife to see including a big goanna, kangaroos, lots of water dragons and some very eager birds at the cafe

For a hiker from the US, Lane Cove Loop was breath taking. First, the sounds are amazing. Birds, frogs, and other creatures greet you and serenade you throughought the trail. We saw a wallaby, lots of cockatoos, iguanas, lizards, and a snake. I couldn't identify the type of snake, and it dissapeared in the bush before I could get a picture. It was brown, with a light stripe along both sides. The aprox 8-mile trail is shady, well marked, and on the easy side of moderate. Most of it is flat, with occasional boulders and brief/mild climbs. You'll find a couple campgrounds and restrooms along the way.
